Hello, we are facing some issues with the quality of our printings. Can anyone advise us on the orientation the files should be placed on the bed? Ex: The thumb should be placed horizontal so there is more surfaces on the bed or vertically? Actually we have a very poor quality of printing and we wonder whether it is the 3D printer, the settings of the printer or the placements of the pieces on the bed (we used makerbot rep 2 and 40% infill, 3 shells, support, raft of course). Can you please help us?2016-05-04 at 1:39 am #933
Hi Nico, I’m glad to meet you!
As for printing orientation, I found a document I made before.
This is not an official document but my memorandum.
I hope it will help your work.

Thank you Hiroshi, it looks like you are using StratasysDimensions, aren’t you?
That’s cheating :-))))
Do you know if anybody made the Exiii using a desktop 3D printer?

Oh, sorry to have confused you.
I happened to use this application for another purpose.
I usually make HACKberry using a desktop 3D printer(UP! plus2).2016-05-20 at 9:04 pm #992
Thanks for the info Hiroshi, do you have feedback problems from people using replicator 2 ? Or maybee it is the settings of the printer/software I am using, because we have some difficulties to print the parts with a desktop printer2016-05-20 at 9:05 pm #993
We are going to print the part 7 which is rthe socket. Are they standard pieces for everyone or do we have to customize them for each amputee? Many thanks. Nico2016-05-20 at 9:49 pm #996
Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten feedback from Rep2 user.
If you can’t print the parts nohow, please consider using SLS nylon printer for difficult parts. Sorry.
As for socket, please check the topics below.
If you can, I recommend you to make 3D scan socket.
That will be better for actual use.
In that case, you will need separated battery box.
Please use this data.
